Myriad underwater applications require surface control of underwater rigs, and the solution is Gates Surface Command / Control suite of cables and interconnects.

Four distinct categories of system control are available: Power (DC 15 or 24V), Camera (ethernet), Lens (serial), and Video Feed (SDI). Each category utilizes a tough, dedicated tether cable for the task, one that meets Gates’ stringent requirements for resiliency, flexibility, and reliability. When warranted, cables can be water / air blocked as well.

Integrated on most tethers is Gates MultiConn (GMC), a robust sealed bulkhead connector of Gates original and proprietary design. Genuine LEMO connector inserts are integral to GMC for reliable signal integrity, including ethernet and serial interfaces.

When difficult protocols are encountered (e.g. HDMI), Gates ‘pass through’ bulkhead cable penetrator (BCP) design provides the absolute highest signal reliability. In such cases, BCP’s are made with custom-manufactured marine-grade cables meeting Gates specifications including air / water block compounds, keeping your valuable camera gear safe and dry.

Gates MultiConn (GMC) Bulkhead Connectors

Real innovation. Gates proprietary MultiConn is another 'bulletproof' design, a sealed bulkhead connector. Primarily for Surface Tethers, it can also be used on Gates External Monitors and custom interconnects.

Surface Tethers

Power

Surface power source is typically power bank 24-28 VDC, delivered over Gates MultiConn and 14AWG / 2.5mm2 gauge wire for minimal losses.

SDI Video

Lens Control
