For over 55 years, Gates Underwater Products is the recognized world leader in reliable underwater imaging systems. 

Based in Poway CA, Gates legendary products exceed the demanding requirements for a wide range of marine applications. Housing construction is type 3 ‘hard’ anodize aluminum alloy and corrosion-proof 316 stainless steel.  Gates engineers employ reliable time-tested designs and proprietary ‘know-how’, while innovating and adapting to new camera and manufacturing technology.  In-house CNC milling machines and 3D printers produce precision components which are then assembled by a seasoned team of specialists, assuring quality at every step with in-process controls. 

Gates customer support is equally legendary.  For our customers, image acquisition and delivery is paramount, and they consider Gates “Part of the production team.”

Standard Underwater Camera Housings

An extensive range of professional underwater camera housings for Sony, RED, Canon, ARRI and other distinguished brands are available on an off-the-shelf basis.  This also includes, underwater lighting, surface command / control tethers, optics and optical adaptations, and vacuum check systems.  Gates is the well established marquis brand in cinema, TV / drama, natural history, research, military and other underwater markets.  

Custom Underwater Housings

Unique underwater imaging applications require creative, reliable solutions.  Gates 55+ years of expertise is routinely brought to bear in such distinctive situations, and can be rapidly designed / manufactured for fast deployment.  Deep ocean cinema (OceanX), ultra low-light (BBC, military), special venue (Sphere / Las Vegas), and hazardous protection (US Navy) are just a few examples.
