Gates EX1R Housing Notice

In February 2012, we learned of a change to the Sony PMW-EX1R camera that affects the Gates housing.  More specifically, a subtle change was made to the EX1R camera handle grip which moved the position of the camera�s zoom rocker control.  Because of this, the EX1R housing zoom control must be different to accommodate this change.

The new zoom control is not � repeat not � backward compatible with older EX1R cameras.  This means we must identify the EX1R camera configuration prior to shipment of a housing and fit the correct zoom control.

Dealers must obtain and provide us with the EX1R serial number, which will uniquely identify the old/new handle grip and zoom rocker.  We will not ship an EX1R housing without this information to ensure it will function properly with the customer�s camera

Gates client Rafa Herrero Massieu just completed shooting on the documentary "isora".

Preview of the documentary "Isora, story of a pod of pilot whales," in which it is narrated the life of a pod of pilot whales living in Canary Islands, as well as their space and the residents sharing that space. It is financed by the Canarian Foundation Mapfre Guanarteme and produced by Aquawork Productions, and it will be presented at the end of 2012

3D Guy TV debuts Thailand flood footage on You Tube

The recent flooding in Thailand has covered a vast territory encompassing an area equivalent to a third of Texas.� Over two million people have been directly affected, losing their homes, jobs, and even access to clean drinking water and adequate food supplies.� Our cameras had the opportunity to visit one of the hardest hit areas of the flood, Lamlukka in Pathum Thani province.� It documents the devastation in and around the area and serves as a small example of what the Thai people have faced, from the country's central provinces to the Gulf of Thailand.
